  • To be eligible for this appointment, candidates must have a Ph.D. in Philosophy, or Political
    Studies, or a closely related discipline in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The successful
    candidate will demonstrate the ability to fulfil the teaching, research and service expectations
    of a tenured Trent University faculty member, including teaching undergraduate and graduate
    courses, maintaining a high quality internationally significant research program, and providing
    leadership within and beyond the university commensurate with a senior academic
    appointment. The successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to fulfill the national
    collaborative leadership expectations of the Network of Jarislowsky Chairs in Trust and Political
    Leadership. Expert knowledge in the governments, politics and public sectors in the Ontario
    context where Trent University is located will be considered an asset.

    curriculum vitae, a summary of their research program (research prospectus) and samples of
    most significant publications, a teaching portfolio including a statement of teaching philosophy
    and evidence of excellence in teaching and mentoring, a statement of equity, diversity and
    inclusion in teaching, research and service, and any other supporting materials. Candidates
    should also submit the names of three (3) referees who may be contacted to submit letters of
    reference.
