DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY (Peterborough Campus)

Trent University invites applications for one twelve-month limited-term appointment (LTA) in the Department of Philosophy at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing August 15, 2021. This appointment is subject to budgetary approval.

Candidates are expected to have a completed Ph.D., an active research program, demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, and a demonstrable capacity to teach online. Each successful candidate will teach seven half-credit courses—three in the fall semester, three in the winter semester, and one six-week course in the summer of 2022. We expect the successful candidate will teach the following combination of courses in the fall and winter semesters at our Peterborough campus with the flexibility to implement alternative modes of teaching in the event on-campus courses are interrupted.

PHIL 2140H: Symbolic Logic,

PHIL 2780H: Philosophy of Science,

PHIL 3210H: Epistemology,

PHIL 3220H: Metaphysics,

PHIL 3320H: Language and Meaning,

and an additional 2000-level course to be determined
