Canadian Philosophical Association Announces Congress 2027 at Western University
The Canadian Philosophical Association (CPA) is pleased to announce that our annual 2027 congress will be held in person at Western University in London, Ontario, 29 May – 03 June 2027.
As with 2026, we’ve chosen to organize our annual meeting independently. This approach proved successful in 2026, giving the CPA flexibility over room capacity, participation options, and registration revenue.
"Halifax showed us what an independent congress can build — a real sense of community among our members. We're looking forward to carrying that forward in London," said Christian Leduc, President of the CPA. "We are grateful to our hosts, the Western Philosophy Department, led by Corey Dyck and his team, and to Western Conference Services for making this meeting possible."
Program Chair
We are pleased to announce that Antoine Panaïoti (Toronto Metropolitan University) will serve as Program Chair for Congress 2027. Antoine’s work bridges European and South Asian philosophical traditions, with a focus on Nietzsche, Buddhist philosophy, and moral psychology.
Collaborating Associations
The CPA Congress includes co-organized events with affiliated organizations, including the Canadian Jacques Maritain Society, the Canadian Society of Christian Philosophers, the Hume Society, and the Canadian Section of the International Association for the Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (IVR). We will welcome the Ethics Bowl Canada finalists for the third year.
